Trust Collateral: The missing variable in climate finance mobilization

As part of the Devex–CIFF series, GCFC contributed to a broader reflection on how climate and development finance systems are evolving.

A central theme emerging from this work is the role of institutional readiness in enabling capital deployment, which we have coined as “Trust Collateral”. This includes the structures, systems, and processes that support credible pipelines and sustained investment flows across markets.

Strengthening these foundations will be critical as public and private actors work to scale financing in more complex operating environments.
